Every tool in this section runs inside your browser. When you pick a video, it is read from your own device, processed by code running in the page, and handed back to you as a download. Nothing is sent to a server, which matters when the video is a draft you have not published yet.

The tools cover the jobs that come up around every upload: turning speech into captions, making a horizontal clip fit the vertical Shorts format, converting an odd file type into the MP4 that YouTube processes most reliably, shrinking a file to share a draft for feedback, pulling the audio out for a podcast version, and recording your screen for a tutorial.

Because your own phone or computer does the work, speed depends on your device and the length of the file. Short clips finish in seconds. Long, high-resolution videos take longer and use more memory, so each tool page lists its practical limits.

What each tool does

Auto Captions

Add a video or audio file and get timed captions in minutes. The Whisper speech model runs on your own device, so nothing is uploaded. Download an SRT or VTT to upload in YouTube Studio, or burn one of 24 animated styles, including one or two words at a time in the centre, into the video itself.

Video to MP4 Converter

Convert a video file into an MP4 with H.264 and AAC. When the file is already compatible it is rewrapped in seconds without losing quality, otherwise it is re-encoded. Runs on your device.

Video Compressor

Choose a target size and the compressor works out the bitrate to hit it. Use it to send a draft for feedback by email or chat. For the final upload to YouTube, keep your original quality.

YouTube Shorts Maker

Turn a horizontal clip into a vertical 1080 by 1920 video. Choose a blurred background or a centre crop, pick the start and length, and download an MP4 ready for YouTube Shorts. Runs in your browser.

MP4 to MP3

Extract the audio from a video file as an MP3. Use it to publish a podcast version of a video, share a voice recording or keep the sound of an interview. Runs on your device.

Video to GIF

Pick a few seconds of a video and turn them into a looping GIF. Useful for blog posts, chat reactions and previews of a longer video. Runs on your device.

Screen Recorder

Record a tutorial, a bug report or a walkthrough straight from your browser. Choose the whole screen, a window or a tab, add your microphone, and download the recording when you stop.

FAQ

Do these video tools upload my video?

No. Each tool reads the file from your device and processes it in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, so a private draft stays private.

Which tool should I use before uploading to YouTube?

Use the video converter if your file is not an MP4, the Shorts maker if a horizontal clip needs to become vertical, and auto captions to make a subtitle file. Upload your best quality original to YouTube, because it re-encodes everything you upload.

Why is processing slow on my phone?

Because your own device does the work. Short clips finish in seconds, long high-resolution videos take longer, and desktop browsers are usually faster than phones.

Is there a file size or length limit?

Files up to about 500 MB are the practical limit, and about 10 minutes works best for captions. Each tool page explains its own limits.
